1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
Although I am a fitness instructor now, I didn't make exercise a habit until my late twenties. I'd always been active as a dancer and cheerleader, but workouts were irregular and seasonal, including when I danced professionally for the Lady Outlawz dance team. I realized after competing nationally for the first time and considering a family history of heart disease that I needed to exercise regularly for a stronger mind and body.
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
I'm concerned about the world we are leaving behind for future generations. Instead of dwelling on it, I ask myself what positive values and virtues can be embodied on a daily basis to improve it. Then I consider what small, observable actions can be taken each day to support those values or virtues. With 7.5 billion people in the world, we can collectively experience far-reaching effects even with seemingly small actions.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
I especially enjoy traveling during "teaching vacations," which is when I visit a resort as a fitness professional offering group exercise classes to guests while also vacationing with my family. I like connecting with the resort staff in this role and I meet more interesting people than when I'm not teaching. It also helps me adhere more easily to my daily exercise routine!
4.What is the most random fact you know?
I certainly don't have it all figured out by any means, but I look at who I was ten years ago versus who I am now at 37 and am proud of all I've experienced and learned and how it's formed the person I am today. I am mindful of this continuous self-actualization now more than ever, and because of it, I'm at a time in life where I'm truly enjoying my journey.
